Trip overview
The Rara Lake Trek offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk the remote trails of western Nepal. The Rara Lake’s altitude is 3,010m (9,875 feet), and it is the largest lake in Nepal. Because of its unbeatable beauty, Nepalese people proudly referred to it as the Queen of Lakes. We begin our 15-day itinerary from Kathmandu where we first visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites. And next, we will take a flight to Jumla. After enjoying the amazing view from the flight we will rejuvenate our bodies for the next destination.
During your trek, you will also pass through Rara National Park, which is regarded as one of the best in the world and also home to musk deer. Likewise, it also serves as home to several beautiful creatures such as Himalayan black bears, leopards, Himalayan goral, and other exotic animals.
Rara National Park, which was officially formed in 1976, offers visitors a stunning vista surrounded by alpine vegetation as well as a diverse variety of flora and fauna. Records show that domestic tourism to the area has increased in a positive way. whereas the number of visitors from abroad stayed constant.
The Thakur society rules the region, and a Thakur Baba temple may be found in the southeast corner of Rara Lake. Locals believe that Thakur Baba protected the region. and save their area from flooding and other negativity.
During the trial, you will be able to encounter the rustic lives of locals who live in remote land. On the same trail, you also find snowcapped mountains, forests, and enchanting lakes. You can find a mixture of several tea houses and lodges on your way to Rara. So, during the trek, you’ve got a lot of options for your accommodation and entertainment. Once we complete our tour of Rara lake we will get ready to return to Kathmandu via Jumla.

Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)When you arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport, a representative will greet you and assist you in making your way to your hotel while outlining additional programs and plans for the day.
The sightseeing trip of the Kathmandu Valley will begin today, and it will focus mostly on the region's cultural landmarks, all of which are included on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Today, you will also get ready for the Trek. The Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple are among the tour's highlights.
Typically, you must take a flight to Nepalgunj before you may travel to the area. Nepalgunj, a scorching-hot city in Southwestern Nepal, is located in the Terai plains, approximately 8 kilometers from the Indian border. The regions have a more Indian-influenced culture than highland Nepal. A cycle rickshaw is another option for getting around the town. You can witness horse carts packed with colorful people traveling to or from the Indian border as you pass by the bustle of the bazaar. One of the most significant Hindu temples in Nepal is the Bageshowri Temple, which is also worthwhile visiting. Hotel stay, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included.
You will be traveling to Jumla today via a 30-minute flight from Nepalgunj. The flight is lovely, and the views of the valleys below and the mountains below are pretty fascinating. When we get to Jumla, we'll meet the trekking team, and after lunch, we'll start our trek. Out of the Jumla Valley, we will be traveling north through routes that are lined with trees and picturesque scenery. Day 05: Trek to Chere Chaur (3,055m), Overnight in Guest House.
You depart Jumla and ascend along the Jugad Khola to Chere Chaur. You will pass Khalanga Bazzar along the way, a small commercial hub for the nearby communities. Before reaching Chere Chaur, you also pass through a few towns, lush forests, religious temples, and a sanctuary. Chere Chaur, spend the night.
The pathway continues to a path that is littered with rocks before coming to an end at Chala Chaur. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included for the overnight stay at the tent camp.
Today when we traverse the Jaljala Khola, we will pass through lovely terraced fields and pine forests. The trail goes via the 300-year-old Kanaksundari Temple on way. For Hindus, the temple has great religious significance. The road continues to curve beside the main river. We will finally descend along the path to the Sinja settlement after crossing a strong plank bridge. On the west side of the crystal-clear Lah Gad River, also known as the Sinja Khola, the settlement of Sinja is snugly situated on a small alluvial plain. The ancient capital of the Malla monarchs was Sinja.
We will travel from Sinja Khola to the Rara National Park's border by taking the trail along the Ghatta Khola and traveling amidst the unparalleled splendor of nature. The Ruma Kand and Malika Kand peaks frame the alpine freshwater lake on its northern side. The Nepal Army helps to defend Rara National Park, which is overseen by the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation. Gorosingha will be where we spend the night. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included for the overnight stay at the tent camp.
Our journey begins with a hot breakfast and takes us to Chuchhema Danda. Chuccheman is one of the best viewpoints for admiring the Himalayan ranges and the hypnotic Rara Lake. We pass through Khatyar stream and a few towns along the way, including Murma. Overnight stay at Rose Camp in Rara Lake with full board meals and hot tea and coffee.
Today is a multi-day exploration of Rara Lake. Rara Lake is Nepal's largest freshwater lake, with a surface area of 10.8 square kilometers and a height of 2,290 meters. We do the boat to respect the peaceful setting of the lake and to observe a variety of fish. Climb around Rake Lake for breathtaking views of Himalayan crests on the lake's southern and northern sides. Medium-term stay at Rose Camp in Rara Lake with full board meals.
After breakfast, our journey takes us through the town of Pina. We begin our journey with a simple and straight stream until we reach Gamgadi. Gamgadi is the Mugu locale's headquarters, where government offices can be found. Following that, we will walk down to Pina town. Stay one night in Pina Town in Rose Camp on a full-board basis.
The current trek begins with a steep ascent to the Ghurchi Lagna pass (3485m.) with breathtaking mountain views and towns on the way to Bumra. Bumra is one of the most beautiful towns in the area. Nauri Ghat is another name for this town. Dinner and overnight at Bumra in Rose Camp.
After breakfast, we begin our final day's climb along Hima Stream and cross suspension bridge. The trail descends to a hot spring where you can wash up and get some relief for your aching body. At that point, we continue our climb by crossing the Danphe Lagna pass (3690m.) and arriving in Jumla. Stay at Jumla in Rose Camp for one night with full board dinners.
After an exciting climb, we return to Nepalgunj early in the morning, followed by a night trip to Kathmandu the following day. We switch to Hotel shape the Airport for sprucing up. Finally, we'll have a farewell dinner at a run-of-the-mill neighborhood Nepalese restaurant, complete with cultural dance. Stay at the hotel for one night, including breakfast.
We will transfer you to the airport where your flight will depart from.

Useful Info

- Any kind of alcohol and intoxicated drug consumption are completely restricted during trekking
- Recommended to keep a buffer day to handle the uncertain event during trek.
- Recommended to keep cash because in the upper region you will not find ATM facilities to withdraw your cash.
- Chances of dehydration at higher altitude so, make sure to consume water in a regular manner and bring extra bottles with you.
- Highly recommend bringing a portable charger /power bank, in trial you hardly get the chance to keep your mobile phones and camera batteries to charge.
