Trip overview

Being a very mountainous country of many altitudes, Nepal hosts a huge diversity of various plants and herbs which makes it a paradise for hardworking bees. They collect the nectar, and juice from flowers of different plants, and make one of the most delicious, and highly medicinal, natural honey on the cliffs of the Himalayas. In some of the Nepali stories, honey is often referred to as ‘the milk of birds’ though that doesn’t give a proper literal meaning. But it has ritual value because it is one of the 5
nectars offered to the gods. The honey hunting trip has been very popular amongst tourists since the documentary “the Honey Hunters” came to light.

This trip is not just only a honey hunting trip, but it is combined with short trekking, exploring local culture, and traditions. Observing the day-to-day activities of local people, and interacting with them, tasting homemade local cuisine with Nepali families is part of the program. Meantime visitors can enjoy a backdrop of the magnificent landscape and snowcapped mountain ranges.
