Trip overview
Cho Oyu is another popular 8000m peak to climb. It is the world’s sixth highest mountain which stands on the Nepal/Tibet border, just 70km west of Everest. The expedition on Cho Oyu from the Tibet side is regarded as one of the most straightforward climbs, and has the highest rate of success of any 8000m mountain. The normal route ascends the northwest face from the Tibetan side of the Nangpa La, the old trading route to Nepal. Despite the relatively non-technical nature of Cho Oyu, you MUST have some mountaineering experience. One MUST have conquered 6000m peaks before like Island, Lobuche, Mera or the Chulu peaks. Expedition members should be able to ascend, and descend fixed lines independently, and be proficient with crampons on steep ice or snow slopes. For an increased chance of success, members should also be in good physical condition. Our main goal is to help you summit Cho Oyu safely with the greatest amount of personal fulfillment, and fun. We have very experienced staff to support your Cho Oyu expedition.
