Trip overview
One of the best short whitewater rafting adventures in the world is the Bhote Koshi. For those looking for a quick but furious and exhilarating rafting adventure, this is the perfect excursion.
The Bhote Koshi is an extremely difficult river. The higher Bhote Koshi comes to an end at Barabise, whereas the lower Bhote Koshi begins at Lamosangu Dam. The point for rafting is at Lamosangu. Because of the large amount of water flowing through the river, the rafting experience on this river is difficult. The river creates a 46-km course at the Lamosunga dam with a strong and direct plunge at the top that progressively eases to more tranquil streams and calmer pools. Expert rafters can manage some breath-holding and hair-straightening rapids when rafting.
People who have some prior rafting experience might do better with it. The Bhote Koshi is the steepest river in Nepal that can be rafted, and the constant fast flow provides significant excitement.
