Trip overview

Recently one more path has been identified to reach Manaslu’s summit. The Manaslu Expedition offers a fantastic experience with the endearing beauty of mountains and lovely surroundings. Mount Manaslu can be an excellent option for many climbers. Although it is high, its altitude is not as terrifying as Kanchenjunga or Everest. Because of the more non-technical parts, you will be able to successfully climb the route pretty easily.

Beginning in Kathmandu, we inform the team members about the adventure and finish the essential documentation and preparations. After that, there is a drive to Arughat Bazar, where the expedition’s first trek starts. The trek offers amazing experiences and lets climbers take in Nepal’s stunning, verdant scenery. It follows the Budhi Gandaki River, for starters. The climbing group reaches Sama Gaon, a stunningly picturesque community of farmers and merchants, on day 9. You will encounter many Buddhist monasteries before traveling to the Manaslu Base Camp and to lower the chances of altitude sickness we will be stopping at different local settlements for a day of acclimatization.

The climbing period is scheduled to last about 44 days. On the summit day, the route will consist of plateaus and gentle slopes that ascend to a sharp crest. We can promise you that the view is worth the effort. There is a little difference in the descent path. Climbers will be able to learn more about the area around Mount Manaslu as a result. Additionally, taking different routes keeps the team’s curiosity and enthusiasm strong. Climbers travel via Khursanibari, Jagat or Salleri, Dyang, and Namrung on their way up. See the expedition’s exact itinerary below for the whole timetable.

Our travel bureau team in Nepal is always with you to guide and support you. For the journey, our team has made good coordination with sherpa’s team who are leaders of this trial. They are trustworthy and experts in their profession, they have a passion for climbing and have a solid connection to the Himalayan environment. You need a guide when taking on the challenge of climbing an eight-thousander. Those who are knowledgeable and skilled in dealing with location-related challenges are always standing behind you.

The travel bureau of Nepal is committed to preserving the Himalayan region’s natural ecology. We humbly request all our travelers not to bring their plastic bags and bottles during climbing. Our Eco-Everest Expeditions have resulted in the removal of thousands of kg of trash. We work to educate local communities about the importance of protecting their environment and their sense of place. The business’s environmental initiatives have received numerous accolades and wide recognition. We welcome you to climb with us and save the environment.

Who can climb Manaslu?

You must ensure that you meet all the requirements before trying Mount Manaslu’s ascent. You must be in excellent physical condition, healthy, fit, and have good stamina. The expedition involves several lengthy climbs and hikes. A single climb or journey may take up to eight hours to complete. Manaslu is one of the simpler 8,000-meter peaks which is easy to climb compared to other peaks but at the same time, the climber should not ignore the seriousness of the high-altitude atmosphere. Apart from that, the rocky and icy terrain definitely required technical mountaineering gear.

Manaslu climbing is mostly taken as a training ground where the beginners practice for their tougher and harder climbs like Mt. Everest, Mt, Kanchanjunga, etc. Cho Oyu is the best option if you’re looking for a peak with a similar technical challenge to Cho Manaslu. In terms of routes, it is also a little bit more diversified than Cho Oyu.

Highlights:

A picture-perfect vista of the snow-capped summits of Manaslu and Himalculi

Glacial valleys, rushing streams, and eye-filling waterways

Enchanting hilltops to explore with native vegetation.

People’s distinctive culture and way of life in central Nepal.

Beautiful strolling meadows and magnificent hamlets

Wildlife sightings in the woodlands

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu

Our team members will receive you from the airport. At or near the time of your arrival, one of our representatives will be there to greet you. They will meet you and drive you directly to the hotel so you can unwind. Whether you decide to tour the city or spend as much time as you like in bed, it's up to you. In any case, you'll be joining us for dinner that night.

Day 02: Tour inside Kathmandu valley and climbing preparations

Your Manaslu Expedition's second day has here, and what better way to begin the journey than with a tour of Kathmandu? As a result, we'll see some of the city's most stunning and significant locations, such as world heritage sites.
The national museum, which includes a lovely collection of portraits, exhibition spaces, and art galleries, is worth a look. We'll briefly discuss the excursion and take care of some paperwork in the evening.

Day 03: Drive to Soti Khola

We should leave the valley and formally start our adventure now. Therefore, we'll use the Prithvi Highway to get to Soti Khola after breakfast. The route is winding, so getting to the village will take nine to ten hours. The trail is challenging but rewarding.
Throughout the race, we get a stunning view of verdant fields and towering hills to cheer us on. Soti Khola, the starting location of the Manaslu expedition, is hidden away to the north of Arughat.

Day 04: Trek to Machha Khola

Starting from Soti Khola, we make our way through a bridge over the Budi Gandaki River and across rocky terrain. We'll reach a specific point and descend the river by ascending a difficult, rocky road.

As we approach Labishe, a tiny Gurung village, we begin to detect a modest elevation change. After a few miles of hiking from the picturesque village, we will arrive at Machha Khola, our last destination for the day.

Day 05: Trek to Jagat

We can start slowly and pick up speed later because the distance isn't that great. After leaving Machha Khola, our trail follows the Budi Gandaki's bank before ascending and descending several peaks.
The path descends to a vast area and is, therefore, simple to follow all the way to Jagat. A stunning town with a fantastic outlook can be found in the Lamjung district. As it rises above the valley, Jagat offers adventurous tourists a tranquil landscape of lofty cliffs, gorgeous mountains, and waterfalls.

Day 06: Trek to Deng

After breakfast, we'll return to the track that leads to Setibas, where the sparse road unfolds attractive mani walls. We'll proceed to the stone-built homes of Ghatta Khola with a Tibetan flair.
We will then proceed on foot to Philim before descending the verdant slopes. Before reaching Deng, the path continues across the Budi Gandaki river and steadily ascends through bamboo trees. With Tibetan monasteries and prayer flags, the Gurung culture is clearly present in and around the settlement.

Day 07: Trek to Namrung

We'll follow the trail that includes several twists and turns after waking up to Deng's beautiful morning and eating. We will go to Namrung after reaching Ghap, a little community with a few stone homes and mani walls.
The trail is very long from here, yet it is lavish with beautiful scenery and bamboo forests. We'll go through the rhododendron-filled forest before ascending the course to Namrung. We'll spend the night at a teahouse.

Day 08: Trek to Samagaun

We'll ascend to Samagaun on the eighth day of the Manaslu trip. We'll set out early and move slowly because the hike reaches 871 meters. Our trail goes a falling waterfall after leaving the settlement and encountering Barchham.
From here, we climb a hill to the Lihi settlement before descending once more to the Hinan River. The trail enters Numla River after passing the Sho hamlet, where it offers a pleasant picture of verdant meadows, glistening Manaslu, and Himal Chuli.
We will eventually arrive at Samagaon after traveling the level trail through lush meadows and topography for about 5 to 6 hours. Stay the night in the teahouse.

Day 09: Acclimatization at Samagaun

Acclimatization is a logical step after the 900-meter elevation gain above Samagaun. As a result, we'll give you a day off so that you can get used to the higher altitude and avoid becoming sick from it. We'll wander through the village and stop by Pung Gyan Gumba to make the day worthwhile.
Behind Manaslu's face is an important historical site on the eastern side. Before returning to the hamlet, you can also go up to the viewpoint of Bhimtang Lake or embark on a few additional excursions. Stay the night at Samagaun.

Day 10: Trek to Manaslu Base Camp

It's time to get serious and start walking the trail that is abruptly inclining and moving above the glacier moraine after the much-needed respite at Samagaun. A calm lake sitting at the base of a glacier, Birendra Kund, is traversed by the trail as it continues.
Visitors passing by can see a stunning reflection of Manaslu and its northern icefall in the lake's quiet water. We will move slowly and occasionally stop to regain energy because the terrain ahead is steep and exhausting.
We will meet our fellow sherpa crew member at base camp, and he or she will lead us from here to the mountain. They will handle all the preparations, including setting up the camp and preparing food. Stay the night at the center base.

Day 11-35: Climbing day of Mt. Manaslu

The momentous day that we have all been anticipating has come to pass. On this day, we'll practice climbing the snowy trails and take our first significant step in climbing Mount Manaslu. Our sherpa crew will take care of all the laborious tasks to make the climb easier for us and more convenient.
They'll do everything from setting up camps at higher altitudes to building anchors and tying ropes. Additionally, they will take care of your meal and your mountaineering preparations. After full acclimatization at the camp, we climb upright over rocks.
We'll follow our guide's directions as we hike across snowy slopes to camp 1, then spend the next day scaling an entirely sloped ice cliff. We'll walk steadily despite the lowering temperature because ascending this part of the course demands a lot of physical stamina and strength.
Near acme you can see nearby mountains, including Ganesh Himal and Manaslu north, after ascending the hardest icefall and crevasse. We'll descend to the base camp shortly after the sightseeing, using the same route as before, because remaining too long on the peak is dangerous.

Day 36: Trek to Samagaon

We'll climb down to the campsite once we ascended the peak. We leave this location by following the trail that leads to the glacier moraine. Retracing our steps to Samagaon, we'll do so at the speed of light. Although the view from the road is breathtaking, Manaslu, Mount Himalchuli, and Naike Peak can be seen fairly surrealistically from the village.

Day 37: Trek to Samdo

The route to Samdo is a destination in and of itself, a moving feast with an unequaled vista of Manaslu and enticing sceneries. From Samagaon, the course continues north along the Budhi Gandaki River. After that, it travels through the Khormo Kharka pasture, from which you can see the surrounding snow-capped mountains and mani wall in all its splendor.
The lane keeps going for another hour as it rises from the incline. After dropping into the river and crossing the bridge, it briefly ascends to Samdo. The Himalayan town of Samdo is breathtakingly gorgeous, with ancient Tibetan monasteries and a natural setting.

Day 38: Trek to Larkya Phedi

We leave Samdo after breakfast and descend the trail to the bridge over the Gyala River. A series of mani stones with beautiful carvings and symbolic colors are passed on the way up to Larkya Bazaar.
Alongside Manaslu's north face, the route continues to climb steeply. After nearly six hours of Trekking through breathtaking meadows and forests, we will arrive in Larkya Phedi. This neighborhood has many recently built homes. Therefore we have a beautiful lodge to stay at for the night.

Day 39: Trek to Bimtang via Larka La Pass

The path starts with a moderate ascent along a mountain and ends at the moraine from Larkya Phedi to Bimtang. Menjung, Kang Guru, and Gyagi Kang are visible from the top of Larkya La Pass, where we'll continue up the ascending path.
After we've finished touring, we'll descend the trail via an area of snow and ice. We'll take a leisurely stroll to Bimtang after the strenuous long walk. Stay the night in the teahouse.

Day 40: Trek to Dharapani

We have been on the Manaslu expedition for more than a month, and the journey appearsing to an end. Today, we'll make the approximately seven to eight-hour ascent from Bimtang to Dharapani.
We will descend the path from Bimtang to Hampuk via verdant pine and rhododendron forests. When we follow the pathways downhill to Dudh Khola, the track forks, and it becomes complicated.
From here, the path descends a steep cliff that has been severely damaged by landslides and leads to the chaotic settlement of Kharche. From Kharche, our footpath lowers, making it simple to walk to the far-off village of Tilije. Finally, we'll cross the Marsyangdi River Suspension Bridge to meet Dharapani, our terminal for the day.

Day 41: Trek to Syange

On yet another difficult day of the Manaslu Expedition's journey, Syange comes to an end. We'll head out on foot as soon as breakfast is finished because it takes about 6 hours to get to the settlement. The trail will lead us to Dharapani, up the hill and far from the Marsyangdi river.

Following the level terrain of the valley, the trek continues to the little village of Tal. Tal offers a breathtaking view as it sits at the base of a gushing waterfall. On the way to Syange, we'll pass Chyamje, cross the river, and then walk through pine and rhododendron-filled forest.

We'll eventually reach Syange after spending about 5 to 6 hours climbing through peaks and valleys. We'll look about the settlement and the captivating waterfall nearby while idle. At Syange, we'll spend the night in a teahouse.

Day 42: Drive back to Kathmandu

We've been on the Manaslu trip for more than a month and a half, and the Trekking is finally over. We'll travel 124 miles on the Prithvi Highway for a beautiful drive to the valley. The route provides an alluring view of lush hills, stunning mountains, impressive waterfalls, and hamlets.

Day 43: Leisure Day in Kathmandu

On this day, you will get enough time to explore Kathmandu. We'll let you go around, shop, and pick up gifts for your loved ones. With so many things to do, Thamel is one of the most fun places. You can enjoy your favorite food at some of the top restaurants in the area, attend concerts, visit art galleries, and stroll through Thamel's glistening streets.

Day 44: Final Departure

Your final day in this lovely Nepalese city. Your departure from the country will take place today, so our representatives will meet you at the airport. They'll take you to TIA and make sure you have a simple flight back.
